Ura - Honne Serie
Ura - Honne Serie
“Ura-honne” is a concept derived from Japanese culture, combining “Ura” (back, reverse side) and “Honne” (true inner feelings). Together, it refers to the hidden, deeper, or more concealed aspects of a person’s emotions that are not openly expressed.
The project explores this duality between exterior appearance and internal reality, interpreting it as a spatial and experiential condition where what is visible and what is concealed coexist and overlap.
The pieces are made using the Raku ceramic technique, where a controlled process meets unpredictable results. Fire plays a key role in the transformation, reinforcing the relationship between control and chance, and between surface and depth.
